Snow is falling, Christmas lights are everywhere, and people are out shopping for presents. It’s the perfect time of year to get out and celebrate! Here in Downtown Boulder, there’s a lot going on as we prepare for the holidays. Whether you’re with family, friends, or heading out on your own, Downtown Boulder has plenty of fun activities for everyone!
Lights of December Parade
What better way to kick off the holiday season than a festive parade? The Lights of December Parade is on Saturday, December 3rd at 6pm. The parade features a marching band, carolers, floats, and fire engines. There will be shops, cocoa, and other festivities available as well. Come enjoy the floats created and decorated by Boulder businesses, churches, schools, and community groups!
St. Nick on the Bricks
Santa is coming to Pearl Street this December for St. Nick on the Bricks! Bring your kiddos and head on over so they can let Santa know what they want for Christmas this year. Located on the 1300 Block of the Pearl Street Mall every Saturday from 11am-2pm, this event is free to attend. Don’t forget to take pictures with Santa!
When visiting Mr. Claus, you will also have the option to support the Boulder and Broomfield community through the Downtown Boulder Food Drive. Bring cash or non-perishable food to donate and help those in need!
Trace Bundy’s Acoustic Holiday
If you’re a fan of acoustics, Trace Bundy will be performing at the Boulder Theatre on December 10th at 7:30pm for the 14th annual Acoustic Holiday event! Bundy is known as the “Acoustic Ninja” by fans due to his wide range of skills with different acoustic instruments. Yasmin Williams will be featured as a guest musician as well. Tickets are running for $25-35 each so get them while you can!
Freezie Fest and Find Freezie
Join us on Saturday, December 10th for a winter celebration all about snowmen: Freezie Fest! This event features free train rides, visits with Santa, crafts and other activities, and more. Perfect for children and families looking for a weekend activity.
Find Freezie will be another delightful ongoing event from November 20th through December 23rd. Visit participating businesses and scan QR codes under hidden Freezie plushies to be entered for a chance to win a $25 Downtown Boulder gift card! Both adults and children are encouraged to participate.
Chanukah on Pearl
Chanukah on Pearl is back again this year and more festive than ever! On Monday, December 19th from 5:30-7pm plenty of food and activities will be available, such as:
- The annual Menorah lighting
- Music
- Hot chocolate
- Chanukah favors
- And more!
This event is perfect for people of all ages and is totally free to attend. Be sure to register in advance if you plan on going to ensure there is enough food and drink for everyone.
New Year’s Eve Celebration with Funkiphino
Want a clean, fun space to celebrate New Year’s Eve with some funky music? The 2023 New Year’s Eve Celebration with Funkiphino is the perfect event! Ring in the new year with a party featuring Colorado’s premier funk band, Funkiphino. Tickets to attend are $125 per person for the first 50 tickets, and $175 per person after the first 50 tickets are sold. Head to the St. Julien Hotel & Spa on December 31st at 9pm with your tickets and celebrate the new year with drinks, food, balloons, and local music!
