Are you making the most out of the dog days of summer? There’s no shortage of things to do in Boulder, CO. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite local summertime events and activities.

Bands on the Bricks

Bands on the Bricks is a perfect family-friendly, evening activity that takes advantage of the long summer days. This free, 8-week concert series happens every Wednesday from 5:30-9:00pm through August 3rd. Held on the 1300 block of Pearl Street, Bands on the Bricks features the best local musicians and bands from up and down the Front Range. The music varies weekly from rock and reggae to jazz and classical. The beer garden opens at 5:30pm and bands come on at 6pm. The lawn in front of the court house provides the perfect spot to enjoy the show over an evening picnic.

Boulder Farmers Market

The Boulder Farmers Market located at 13th Street Between Canyon and Arapahoe doesn’t disappoint. It’s held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 4-8:00pm and Saturdays from 8-2:00pm. A feast for the senses, the market features an abundance of fresh local produce straight from the farm, artisanal packaged goods and prepared foods for onsite dining. Dozens of vendors sell everything from leafy greens and sun ripened tomatoes to local baked goods, wines and honeys. The market’s prepared foods section offers a wide variety of cuisines to please just about every palate. Live music adds an air of festivity.

Tubing the Boulder Creek

You haven’t done Boulder right until you’ve caught a tube ride down the Boulder Creek. A favorite activity for particularly hot days, tubers gather at Eben G. Fine Park to drop-in and ride as far as 55th street. The ride is part gentle float, part thrill ride with mini chutes and rapids to keep you on your toes. Tubing the creek is a DIY activity, however several businesses around town sell tubes including McGuckin Hardware, Rob’s Village Conoco, Foot of the Mountain Motel and Whitewater Tube Co.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival
Theatre lovers have been enjoying the Colorado Shakespeare Festival for more than 60 years. The festival runs throughout the summer at the historic Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre on the University of Colorado Campus. Shows are held nightly under the stars and feature some of Shakespeare’s most famous works from the dramatic to the comedic. Tickets start at $20.

Stand-up Paddle Boarding at the Res

Stand-up paddle boarding at the Boulder Reservoir is one of the best ways to enjoy panoramic views of the Front Range while getting some exercise. Part fun, part balancing act, part workout, stand-up paddle boarding gets you out on the water and is a splendid way to spend a summer morning or afternoon with friends or family. Rocky Mountain Paddlesports rents paddle boards daily onsite in one and two hour increments.

Boulder Taco Fest

Who doesn’t love a good taco? We sure do here at Office Partners on Pearl! The Boulder Taco Fest is a newer addition to Boulder’s eventS line-up. Held on Saturday, August 6th from 11-7pm, Boulder Taco Fest features some of the town’s tastiest tacos, craft brews and tequilas. Entertainment includes high-flying Luchadores, live music and free activities for the kids.

We hope to see you this summer at one of our favorite Boulder events or activities!
