Summer Fun in Boulder

There are so many ways to get out and have fun in sunny Boulder this summer! Whether you’re into festivals, live bands, or funky celebrations, Boulder is your ticket to a good time.

The best part about most of these entertaining Boulder experiences? They’re free! All you have to do is show up and enjoy.

Add these summertime Boulder events to your calendar this summer:

  • Boulder Creek Festival
  • Jewish Festival
  • Boulder County Pride Week
  • Bands on the Bricks
  • Tube to Work Day
  • Arts in the Park

Boulder Creek Festival

May 26-29, 2023

Touting four days of 30 bands, three stages, 30 restaurants, and more than 200 artisans, Boulder Creek Festival has something for everyone. Keep in mind there’s no charge to get into the festival and listen to music, but there is a charge for the carnival rides. Kick off summer with this staple event over Memorial weekend. Boulder Creek Festival is not to be missed!

Boulder Jewish Festival

June 4, 2023

The annual Boulder Jewish Festival is open for everyone to enjoy and learn. A celebration of Jewish culture, the festival is filled with art, food, music, vendors, and games for the kids. Gili Yalo will be headlining with Marc Megabow as the MC for the event.

Boulder County Pride Week

June 11-17, 2023

There’s plenty of fun for all ages during Boulder County Pride Week. Bring your kids to take an art class and stay for the music, dancing, drag storytime, trivia, and a big old pride party. Everyone is welcome.

Bands on the Bricks

June 21 through August 2, 2023

Featuring 10 weeks of free outdoor concerts, Band on the Bricks is a fun summertime event featuring local artists. Music will fill the air on Pearl Street Mall every Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Grab dinner from a nearby food cart and adult bevies from the beer/wine/margarita garden to enjoy while listening to great local music.

Tube to Work Day

July 14, 2023

Keeping Boulder weird is the official Tube to Work Day (The World’s Greatest Traffic Jam)! What started as a non-event with just two tubers has become a massive event with over 1,000 tube commuters at its peak.

The tube commute begins at Ebon G. Fine Park where people wearing business attire head off to work on Boulder Creek. Then, tubers can get out at Central Park to enjoy coffee, a light breakfast, and a DJ dance party before heading downtown to work. Totally normal, right?

Arts in the Park

May-September, 2023

From Boulder Opera and Butterfly Effect Theater Group to singalongs and poetry readings with Hippy Bluegrass Church, Arts in the Park is a whole bunch of good vibes all summer long.

This newbie festival began in 2021 for performing artists to perform outdoors in Boulder’s Civic Area during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully it has taken hold and continues for another summer; there is something special about sitting outside while listening to Boulder Philharmonic perform in the Glenn Huntington Bandshell.
